The Venetian Harbor
The Venetian Harbor with its lighhouse is Chania's trademark. It was constructed by the Venetians somewhere aroung 1320 and 1356. It is well known for its brilliant architecture that consolidates Eastern and Western elements. The Venetian Harbor is a nostalgic place full of historical memories however it is also alive because of the modern cafes and restaurants close to the harbor

Castle of Gramvoussa
It's a little islet off the beautiful beach of Bolas. On the highest point of this islet there is a sharp castle constructed by the Venetians somewhere around 1579 and 1582. You should visit this castle because the view from there is breathtaking

The archaeological place of Knossos is located 5 km of the city of Heraklion. There is proof that this area was possessed during the Neolithic times (6000 B.C). On the remnants of the Neolithic settlement was constructed the main Minoan palace (1900 B.C) where the empire of Minos ruled. This was devastated in 1700 B.C and another palace was constructed in its place.
